Athens Halloween Block Party draws thousands of people to the Uptown Athens district where ghosts and ghouls party like there’s no tomorrow with live music stage performances and so many fun costumes.
Parking is tough to find near the block party, especially for motorcycles. We advise you walk or take the Athens Public Transit to get there.
Mothman Festival is an annual event held every third weekend in September that commemorates the 1966 Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Mothman sighting, which gave birth to the infamous red-eyed winged legend. People from all over the world gather around our charming Main Street to celebrate their favorite cryptid during this one-of-a-kind event.

The Ohio Pawpaw Festival is a fun-filled, educational community event celebrating one of America's largest native tree fruits, the pawpaw (Asimina triloba). This event offers an eclectic mix of activities, food, music and more. It’ll give you a true taste of Athens County culture.

Join Wailin Wayne Weekend for a five-day adventure motorcycle rally in Nelsonville, Ohio. Experience 130 miles of challenging trails through Wayne National Forest, ride the twisty roads of Ohio’s Windy 9, and explore the region’s beautiful hills.
Two days of flat track motorcycle racing are coming to the Athens County Fairgrounds. Races are will showcase AHRMA modern & vintage classes. On the grounds attendees can enjoy a variety of food trucks, a beer garden, Friday night fireworks and Saturday night live music performances.

Our goal is to foster a community of women riders while supporting My Sister’s Place, a local agency that supports victim survivors of domestic violence in Southeast, Ohio.
This event will include guided rides, workshops, games, nightly activities, a banquet and fundraisers to support the work of My Sister’s Place.

The Wall That Heals will be on display at Tailgreat Park — along the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway near the Ohio University Convocation Center. This exhibit includes a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial along with a mobile Education Center. The traveling exhibit honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War and it bears the names of the 58,279 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
